Stardust Mission Status Report
Allan Cheuvront, Stardust Flight Director
February 5, 2007
Thanks for that, Alex. How cool is it that this spectacular mission might get an encore. I wonder, how many other spacecraft are in a similar situation (mission completed and no longer funded, but still physically able to perform science)? Anybody know the the status of the Genesis bus, for example, and any possible future mission?
Fantastic!
Man...now that is an example of good, robust design. This really makes me appreciate the great work of the Stardust PM when the bird can keep on flying, even well after the primary mission has been accomplished. Hope that s/he (don't know who it is) sleeps well every night with a smile.
