Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Cassini's ongoing mission and raw images _ Umbriel Vs. Iapetus

It seems to me that there is a similarity between these two moons. Have any spectral comparisons been done? Granted, the imaged portion of Umbriel only has a few bright streaks, but it has a similar visible effect. Bright areas on Umbriel seem to only be dug up by craters. Is it possible that this is a moon that got a thicker coat of the stuff that is on one side of Iapetus?

I have added a page on Umbriel to my site with some commentary and a montage of the five best Voyager image sets of this moon. Perhaps New Horizons 2, if it flies can tell us more...the Voyager coverage is quite poor.

or Umbriel and Iapetus have undergone similar processes of water ice removal.

That is a good question. Does anyone know anything with regards to similarities in surface composition? I figure we must have at least some groundbased data for Umbriel.
