Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Opportunity _ A Look Back At Opportunity's First Exit Attempt?

Looks like they dug a pretty good hole trying to get out this way ( unless this was an imaging target drive...?), I didn't expect to see regolith this deep considering how close the outcrop was to the surface, but around the crater edges it appears quite deep.
