Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Saturn _ Triumph at Saturn

Not sure why this kind of a documentary was so long in the making, but I loved the first part. What blew me away was the fact that there was actual HD footage I saw for the first time of events I thought were only ever captured in (worse than) SD quality.

Very much looking forward to part II.

This is one of a whole series that JPL is slowly putting out - they're being made in, roughly, chronological order....

Hence this Cassini one being so long after end of mission.

I can only agree. Part 1 was superb, especially the pre-flight build up and the behind the scenes discussions between the science teams and the project management. Can't wait for part 2 on Friday.
The whole JPL series looks intriguing, many hours of great viewing during the winter.

Watched part I last night. Very well done. Was fun to see especially the first science team meeting in Dec 1990, with so many people that became my colleagues over the following 27 years (at the time I was too junior a person, only a few weeks after starting at ESTEC, to merit going to a meeting at JPL...)

Interesting too was the SOI footage in 2004 (they had all of us pesky scientists watching livestreamed events at the Pasadena Community College, VIPs only at JPL..) I hadnt realized Sen. Culberson was there, watching the radio science data come in..
