Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Chit Chat _ Large Prints

What services do you use to get big prints of space pictures? I haven't gotten any yet, but I plan on giving http://www.pixeloutpost.com/ a try once I have the funds (or convince my parents to pay for it). I'd like to know what works for other people, though.

We have used Snapfish for our personal digital prints - haven't done anything larger than 8x10 but they have been good so far.

Seems a little cheaper, but not much.

How expensive would cost it? Only a company can buy it! No one word for a Home and Small Private Business. It is more justificable to carry the image in a CDROM to a print company to print the image.

For that tag price, I would rather buy a telescope or a MER R/C which I hope that Bill Harris will market it soon!

I have a friend who worked in the graphics department of an advertising firm that had several large format printers. After hours, he used to print his own gift wrap paper on it! Not something those of us who need to actually pay for ink and paper and printers would be likely to do.... tongue.gif

Me too! But I think if I got caught making a poster of Europa or something I'd probably have to start cleaning out my desk before it even finished the image. ohmy.gif

That's not to say I haven't been tempted though! Sooo tempted.... my worst fear though, would be having it jam halfway through ant not being able get it out of there! ...Oh...this?...no this is...the...for the new....promotional.....*runs away*

If you'd like a photographers advice :-) then the absolute best online digital printing site right now is http://www.mpix.com.

If you want larger than 20x30 you will have to find a poster or large print specialist, I think I know of a couple but I'll have to double check.

If you're willing to wait a little longer and do it via mail, Dale Laboratories (http://www.dalelabs.com) is fantastic and they do thing such as professional Gatorboard mounting and the like, both digital and film. Those are the two places I use all the time, for both my work and when printing hi-res NASA photos.
