Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Chit Chat _ The Moon And The 9-incher

The 9-inch Steinheil-Cooke refractor at the local observatory got my attention when I had my first look at the Moon through the instrument. Danny Caes is the observatory's Moon-expert and was of great help in operating the old telescope.

I had the first chance of taking some shots a few days ago and I'm very glad with these first images...

The sky was kinda hazy so the resolving power should improve, if, weather permitting, we can do this more in the future. biggrin.gif

After some sharpening, I can almost see the monolith inside Clavius... wink.gif

Nah, he's probably referring to the recently discovered CMA-1.
