Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Chit Chat _ CASSINI talk in Kendal by Dr John Spencer

Posted by: Stu Jul 20 2012, 09:19 AM

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Dr John Spencer - a UMSF member - who came to Kendal last night to give my astronomical society, the Eddington AS of Kendal, an absolutely fantastic talk on the CASSINI mission. It was a great turnout - 50 people or so - and for over an hour John kept everyone enthralled with beautiful pictures, descriptions of Cassini's most important discoveries, and more. Afterwards many people told me what a brilliant night they'd had, so I just wanted to thank John for coming to see us again. He was also very generous with his time afterwards, answering many questions and even talking to a local radio reporter (who is still beaming from ear to ear this morning!).

Thanks John!

The difference between the United Kingdom and United States
In the United Kingdom 100 miles is a long way
In the United States 100 years is a long time

Very belated thanks to Stu for hosting the event and summoning a very enthusiastic crowd for the talk! Always a pleasure to visit Kendal and the Eddington folks. And good luck with the upcoming MSL landing event, Stu!

John
