Just saw on TV that Rymdbolaget (the Swedish Space Agency) and VirginGalactic are planning to start suborbital flights from ESRANGE in northern Sweden from 2012. Special attraction: View Aurora Borealis from the inside!

This is a great idea!
I never watched aurora due to my geographic location... when I made a trip to Norway, it was summer so no dark sky even at midnight , now I'm planning to go in Iceland within few next years... (probably the suborbital flight inside aurora is too expensive for me!).
In the meantime, SpaceWeather published a beautiful February aurora gallery and this image in particular is incredible:

Warning: There are also no dark skies in Iceland for roughly three months during the summer.
