"Initialization failed: Scene definition download failed" after clicking the 'Click Here' button. I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

A friend and I here at work were scratching our heads as to how those paths could be right - until we realized they were as viewed through an Alt-Az mount. Using an equatorial mount should result in a near straight line across the sun, correct?

And JS's pan polar-projected.

What is that impression in front of Oppy just to the right? Almost looks like a boot print. blink.gif

How's the orbit holding up? Last I heard it was going to be reentering before mid-December.

wasn't the right type to permit the precise tracking required. They had S-band radio, the rovers use X-band.

Are they making some of the new measurement using Doppler? Perhaps the Viking S-band radios didn't have sufficient frequency stability.

Estes motors was around 120kg, that the launch mass was around 750kg and the motors had an Isp of around 134sec.

Not Estes motors (Estes makes only black powder motors) but rather theses APCP motors were provided by Loki Research http://www.lokiresearch.com/

Which wheel wheel.gif is it that gave them problems on Oppy? As they begin to make their way out of Victoria, has that wheel motor been behaving itself?

Thanks Emily but, you know the worse is to figure out °F in °C! No chance the weather reports will be in °C I guess...

Regarding the backshield and parachute, is there any chance that the parachute move a bit and come to view in the future?

Since the temperature cycles a bit above and below -40, °F or °C doesn't matter smile.gif

2,4 m/s give 8,64 km/h which is more than anticipated (I guess it was 5 km/h). Can we say it was a "hard" landing?

2.4 m/s = 5.37 miles per hour. Advertised landing speed was 5 MPH , not 5 km/h. It's important to keep units straight approaching mars smile.gif

Can the IDD make mechanical connection with the deck? How about bringing the IDD into mechanical contact with the deck then running the RAT a bit. I would think that would produce at least a bit of vibration.

In regards to the spacewalk to fix the snagged panel, news reports are stating the astronaut:
"runs the risk of being shocked as he tries to fix the damaged panel."

Shorting something out and getting a few sparks I can see, but the idea of there being enough voltage there to be a shock hazard - particularly through the suit - is surprising to me. What buss voltages are they running there?
