I saw the Lightning take off at a few airshows, almost before the end of the runway it went into about an 85 degree climb, and was gone......

Hayabusa is a spaceprobe miracle, if it could speak, after releasing the capsule, it would say "now I can die !", before quietly expiring, having amazingly achived it's objective.

Yes the tilt is South, time, energy and luck ran out for getting Spirit into a Northerly tilt. A bit like what happened to Phoenix, in the end sunlight rules what you can do and cannnot do.

A friend of mine who should know better said it was a military payload on a Saturn V.....I think he might have been on the "red juice" the night before......He saw it launch as he lives only 12 miles away.

This is what I expected. Power is too low and only 4 wheels is not good for exctraction. Now we wait a while and we can see dust drifts forming etc smile.gif. pancam.gif pancam.gif pancam.gif pancam.gif pancam.gif pics pics pics.
