The starboard SARJ ruined such a great image of the ISS... wheel.gif

Since it's only 3 days till landing, I thought I'd post this link again so a few more greetings could be submitted. Especially for a job well done during EVA-4 on Saturday...

http://spacecenter.org/message.asp

Give the shuttle/station crews props!

EDIT: Space Station Freedom...and reality. smile.gif

*Sigh* Good luck and anything solar power-related just hasn't been going hand-in-hand with the ISS... huh.gif

I don't think ISS will have rolling brownouts.

Wouldn't THOSE be "interesting" (RE: scary) moments for the crews onboard...

The tile repair test (TRAD) for EVA-4 has been scrapped...and that spacewalk will now be devoted to SARJ troubleshooting, according to today's Mission Status Briefing.

Meh. Just another lame, dramatic headline to grab attention for this situation. Kinda like how CNN and MSNBC both had headlines to the likes of "Spacewalkers make disturbing find" for their article on the SARJ situation.

It's not like Dan Tani found a human bone jammed inside the rotary joint. mellow.gif

Send a personal message to the space shuttle Discovery astronauts!

http://spacecenter.org/message.asp

All the messages will be placed on a CD that will be presented to the crew at Johnson Space Center after they return home from STS-120.

Cool- Did you create that yourself? Or which website did you get that from?

EDIT: Interesting that Phoenix has been near Earth ever since launch... I think the second TCM later this month should change that

Typical western nonsense! As can clearly be seen in these JAXA photos the Earth has a disk shaped body and the pristine waterfalls are falling away from the spacecraft and not visible since the craft is going to the moon. biggrin.gif

How could I have been so blind???

So we won't know how the LOI went till 9:00 AM, JST on October 5...which would be 5:00 PM, PDT tomorrow.

JAXA is deceiving us, djellison... They refuse to release REAL images taken by Kaguya that shows pristine waterfalls streaming off all sides of Earth's cube-shaped body... biggrin.gif

I presume they mean October 4, Japan Time (as in the LOI is still on October 3, 2:01 pm Pacific Daylight Time)?

BTW, they updated the "Position of KAGUYA" page:

http://www.selene.jaxa.jp/en/communication/position_e.htm

Nice little image there. JPL needs to have that kind of animation instead of the Solar System Simulator. cool.gif

Thanks for the info, Emily. I thought someone at Goddard wasn't as into the whole public relations thing as JPL and JAXA are...

Odd... That LRO page was taken down. Perhaps Goddard Spaceflight Center changed their mind and didn't want the names of non-rocket scientists gracing their spacecraft? Or having TWO spacecraft orbiting the moon with the names of civilians onboard was a bit superfluous? tongue.gif

I don't think the Decepticon will care about that tag as it stomps on Phoenix once it lands on the Martian surface.

Sorry... Just watched "Transformers" in IMAX. Beagle 2 Mars Rover... tongue.gif
