You've asked for insight into mission reasons why it hasn't been done.

You've been given them. Multiple reasons from multiple people.

You may not agree with them, but that is essentially irrelevant.

MOC imaged Odyssey and Mars Express. Not seen any HiRISE attempts to do the same though.

Dawn will, iirc, be swooping over the south pole - not sure if any orbiting spacecraft will have an opportunity to image it.

we don't have good photograph.

We have the best photographs worth taking.

And please - manned spaceflight, and the manned v unmanned issue, both banned subjects at UMSF. Please read the Forum Guidelines.

Reminds me, ever so slightly, of Anatolia back up in the Eagle-Endurance days.

As an administrator, I back MH's take on this. Micvoo - you've been ignoring our advice, making demands for things you've been told are not going to happen, and refusing to do ANY work yourself to become familiar with MMB. I'm giving you a week to think about it.

I wasn't proposing post-drive imaging any later than it normally is, but we did read somewhere that MODY was being shifted to earlier in the day so that it wouldn't be fortuitously overhead at a normal 'done for the day' sort of time anymore.

No reason why they couldn't carry on driving past the comms pass. It would mean a restricted-sols type situation for the end-drive location, but it would mean a longer drive if it was possible/required.

They're noise compared to the volume of the rest of the data - ignore them.

But no info as to what I am looking at, e.g. location, day (or day range, etc).

For location - the site and drive number are within all the images, and will be shown if you click the wheel icon, along with day range. There has never been, nor ever will be a manual for MMB. Everyone else has figured it out just by playing around. Read back through the posts of this thread and really, you should be able to work it all out for yourself. We all have.

Yes - given the standards of driving around here - I certainly don't want these people challenged by the third dimension.

I don't mind doing a series of a few tutorials as screen-captures if people would find them usefull. What would people like to see?

I don't think Ted's enjoying the big 3-0 as much as I did, so I think celebrating is probably the wrong word smile.gif

Poor Pluto, even banned from UMSF. sniff.

No. Not true. Pluto discussion is great. Is Pluto a Planet, however, is not. This thread is fine, but there are members who shall remain nameless who will take ANY opportunity to break that rule, and run with it.

Look at post number 9 - and scale appropriately smile.gif

The 'width' of each petal half needs to be Pi* r ( i.e. total circum = Pi * d )

I imagine that any future landers or orbiters which would feature biology-oriented sensors would provide ...

...an opportunity to revisit the issue as and when it happens.

In the mean time, a ban on biology is a ban on biology. Like politics and manned.... NO exceptions. These rules are made as simple as possible - to follow, and to police, so there can be no arguments or cries of foul play.

It's a plugin for 3ds max

I used it for the illumination, clouds, and haze. The terrain itself was produced out of Vray - and held together by 3ds max.
