They all look the same collapsed lava tube ceiling feature that we've found with Odyssey - I don't doubt that they're the same sort of feature.

You have to be carefull claiming that you 'discovered' them. Are some of these included in the Odyssey finding etc etc.

I don't know what to suggest other than what I've already said. Can you find other Invision 2.3 boards that have the same problem (or no problem at all) ?. Is there something unique to your config that a google-search finds? You can see that using the exact same version of Firefox, I'm getting fine results (I upgraded from 2.0.0.5 to .07 just to be sure we were on the same page)

Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-hang on a minute

This is the News section - where only admins and mods can start threads or do attachments. Do you have problems in other sub-forums? I've flicked the switch on member attachments in this sub-forum as a double-check.

Doug - out of curiosity, was the timeout period longer in the past?

It's not a value I ever set. It has been at the default with every version of Invision we've used - so if it's changed, it's because the default has changed.

Scroll down to the attachment editor pane of the post page.
Find the browse button - click it- navigate to your file - click open.

Then hit upload - you will see this

Attached Image

Then - if you so wish you can use the drop-down menu which says Manage Current Attachments (n) to add them into the post, or delete them.

Attached Image

Click submit when you've finished your post - job done - with Firefox 2.0.0.7

Nothing special on this machine at all - bog standard XP SP2 install. I don't want to sound like a bastard about this - but it DOES work - I've demonstrated it with this post - if it's not working on your machine, what more can I do apart from recommending you google around for firefox invision 2.3 and see if you can find similar problems elsewhere. Go hunting for other Invision boards and see if you have trouble there as well. If you don't - then let me know which boards and I'll see if I can liase with that forum admin to see what differences there might be. I've hunted the official invision forums http://www.ipsbeyond.com but have found nothing regarding trouble uploading.

You would not believe how frustrating this is and how much swearing I'm doing - because I have not seen a single one of ANY of the symptoms people are describing. Not one. Login is fine, attachments are fine, it's snappy, it works. I'm not a tech guru, I'm not a code monkey. The new version is FANTASTIC for admin - the new registration process means I'm getting 1/10th the number of spammers registering, and it takes me half the time to approve new registrations. I couldn't be happier with how it performs for me...and couldn't be more farked off or in the dark as to why others are having issues.

Sounds great! You paying?

Seriously - that'd be an ideal way to do it - but if they can't find money to do one of them, they're not going to be able to find the money to do both.

Just remembering an early interpretation of the berry distro - not saying it explains everything we see. Covered in berries doesn't mean full of berries (although that image would suggest some berries erroding out of rock) . It's no secret that the berries seen within rocks got smaller, and then vanished, as we headed south from Endurance.

Or - if you look at it another way - having a cache eliminates the need for a scientific rover when doing sample return, and simply a simple rover to collect the sample and return it to the MAV.

Hunt down Steve's lecture to the Open University last year - he talks about Berries on the way to Victoria. Essentially they think that we're up section here - above where the berries have been made.

It doesn't matter what trajectory you try to use to get to Mars - for the last few hundred thousand kilometers you will be falling towards Mars under its gravity and still hit it's atmosphere at a high speed.

Hmm- was your dog in Milan last year? Helen had one of those - and it got stolen while on holiday in Milan smile.gif It was a great camera.

I think the way to choose payload elements is to think of items that are as self contained as possible - so any small camera that has the ability to take images every X seconds built in would be suitable. The lightest (size doesn't really matter - a polystyrene housing isn't going to be very 'massive' - it's mass that's the issue I would have thought) camera with a nice wide field of view, and a self-timer facility is the thing to use.

I just ebay'd my old Canon S2 IS for about £150 - it's intervalometer was fantastic but its batterylife had reduced to nothing - a real shame. I'm sure some stacked Li-Poly's could fix that in a payload situation. The temperature issue is a challenge though - and really you would want two - one horizon looking - on down looking - OR - do you split the FOV two ways with a mirror either shot-by-shot or splitting the instantanous FOV. The smaller Canon's have Intervalometers as well - perhaps the payload could stretch to two?

Let's keep it casual - but think it through as much as is possible - as well as possible.

How about one of the cheap 300D's you can find on Ebay and a DIY timer circuit using the cable release socket. Probably <$500 all up.

Otherwise we'll HAVE to use yours - it has fewer cycle's used on it's lifespan biggrin.gif

I like the new font - but I'm in a big minority (none of the admins like it either smile.gif )

I'll see what I can do by x-ref'ing the CSS's of the two and get the old font on the new theme.

The new and improved design is selectable for all if you so wish - but it's not customized for UMSF yet There's a drop down in the bottom left. Try it if you like - the new is IPB Board Pro - it'll be the default in October - maybe it'll fix some of the problems people are having with functionality.

It remembers my login with Firefox, Safari and Camino on my Mac, and with Firefox and IE7 on my work PC - old version and new version both the same. I don't really know what to say. I've got people saying 'great - it remembers my login at last' and people saying 'it drops me every 5 seconds'. All i can suggest is things like flushing cookies etc Floyd. It's hard for me to see what I can do here when I can not for the life of me reproduce what you're describing. I really can't see how it's a forum problem rather than a local problem. Do you visit any other Invision boards? Do they retain login? Help me help you.

And Juramike - 'Still crashes' - doesn't actually help me fix anything. Some details might be nice.
