I'm not sure what you actually mean - but I've double checked and tripple checked that Bob is NOT on the IP ban list.

RH is nothing short of scum imho - and I'd rather his name were not even mentioned in this place. He doesn't even deserve the criticism.

Tosol ( 909 ) is a 'driver' - and I think that the times are nicely synced up at the moment for a few consecutive drive sols perhaps.

From the vertical profile data (MOLA) so far one can infer....

Very little when one considers the size of any MOLA sample footprint and the distance between them on the ground when compared to the size of Victoria crater smile.gif

Now, MOC NA Stereo is a nother matter smile.gif

You can think of all sorts of ways of branding when something is or isnt a 'planet'...but two things come to mind.

Does it actually matter? If we say Pluto is a planet or not, Pluto is still Pluto. Why waste the time, money and effort discusing this matter at all?

Whatever constraints you attempt to bring on the classification of a 'Planet' at some point you will have to make an arbritrary cut off point of size, shape and location and under various headings of planet, planetoid etc etc define ranges for each of these.

It's easy to forget Mini-TES....we don't know how much work was done on Beagle and what characterisation this was able to achieve. We also did have one IDD site on material adjacent to Beagle, so they may have been able to use that as a ground truth, infer those properties onto the remaining Beagle material using Mini-TES and then decide there was no benefit to staying around.

Is there another ISP in UK, then try with the other?

He has - and indeed trying via another ISP he can get in, but he's on cable at home and stuck with NTL as I understand.

For such purposes - there is this place - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unmannedspaceflight/

Shaka appears to have thrown his toys out the pram and left after a long history of nonsense posts that punctuate his troubled history in this place. His posting lacked an inner monologue much of the time, and quite a few posts had to be deleted. He's one of the few members of a special group of people who each have their own dedicated moderators discussion thread. He's not banned or on the IP deny list, and he's welcome to post here, but clearly the fact that I insist on certain standards offends him.

Bob just can't get onto the forum - it's a connectivity issue - the host totally deny responsibility - and there's nothing more I can do to sort the situation sad.gif

Here's my stitch-and-philovisioned view toward Victoria....and to take it to the next step, I've tried to interpret and cross-ref with the orbital imagery....were I at the wheel - I'd head for the red terrain, avoiding as much as possible the yellow terrain. I think once on the red - we might have some of those big big drives we used to enjoy around James Caird smile.gif

That image is from the S11 phase of MGS ops, so it JUST missed the last data release, but will be in the next one in October.

Great to see the results of a conversation that started here turning into real pictures!

These obs would probably have been taken anyway, but to think that this place might have played a small role is fantastic smile.gif

Great planning by the MOC team......now...any plans to try and image MRO smile.gif

Well - all of the Beagle Pan was taken in L257 and R2 - but the L2 R2 was sent down more quickly....so there's full colour for the whole 360 degrees smile.gif two frames high, and 3 frames high centered on Beagle itself.

'Alternate sources' from the engienering side of thigns tell me that actually - it wasn't an uplink problem, but the occasional Opportunity reboot problem (on 902) that was alluded to previously.

From our favorite payload element lead...

"Minor uplink fault on 902, but all is well and we're back in business for 904-905"

Well - usually between about 3 and 5pm local....but it's usually 20-2100 local by the time it gets onto the web and MMB picks up the new files. I've sent an email out to JB - but he's out the office....so if anyone reading this knows what's up.....spread the word smile.gif

A bit OT, but did we ever find an "unannotated" version of this hi-res Victoria image, PIA08447?

--Bill

Nope. I asked around, but we'll have to wait for that MOC image to hit the PDS.
