If it's anywhere, it's here

http://www.apolloarchive.com/apollo_gallery.html

But I don't think that the last image of the LRV taken - it's too rocky for a LEM landing site.

The only bit of the arrays that the IDD could reach would be about 5% of the Array I recon - not much more than that - and the only thing it could do is ruin it smile.gif

I thought you were going to suggest I was damaging to non-stick pans, and fun to put on 9v batteries.

Wow - given that VEX, MEX, MRO and MO were your previous targets, NH - beyond Mars, must be a new personal best - now you've got it once, hopefully you'll be able to really stretch the hardware and see how far out you can manage to still hear it!

QUOTE (bergadder @ Apr 13 2006, 12:07 AM) *
What event marks the arrival, first image of the floor of Victoria?

My suggestion was the first sol at which an image is taken at the site number and drive number at which the first full pancam panorama of VC is taken. When we stop to have a 'good look' - we have arrived. It doesnt have to be that first image OF the panorama - just the first image taken from the same place. (usually a Navcam pan a day or two earlier)

I was 2 at the time - sadly my first 'space memory' is Challenger. sad.gif

STS get's a lot of stick, much of it warrented, but it still is a hell of a sight and a hell of a vehicle when it flies.

You can't delete your own posts - but you can go back and edit them, and and leave just "Double post, please delete" or something like that

leave all the flyby data on the recorder

What use is that? Whatever you do with the recorder, it can all get sent back home given a few months of downlink time, and it needs to be nice and fresh ready for a KBO flyby hopefully a few years later

Did we not see a similar thing showing the route from WS to LL using imagery from the Santa Anita pan?

I'm not sure if that came before or after the first of the 'Alan is lost' series of images for that section - but the Inner Basin image isn't the first to use the technique.

hoping for a 5 x 50m driving week (assuming no "restricted sols")

smile.gif

(BTW: how often and when do those "restricted sols" occur ? )

It takes about 40 days for Sol's and Days to lag by 1 full day (i.e. Sol 40 = Day 41)

Thus - it's a cycle of 40 days, for which I'd guess each rover is restricted for about 10-14 sols (although I'll ask Jim next QnA time)

Sadly not - it's more a dev kit and coding library.

You're crazy.

(well, you did ask)

Seriously - you're talking 6+ x the current traverse distance. Even with a grad-student-controlled 3 wheel drive rover in 5 years time - that's just not going to happen.

Getting OSG to do anything smile.gif

I got as far as using osgconv in an OSG session box, but it didn't like me.

I'm happy with what I've got to play with courtesy of your efforts though - a thousand and one wedges, and so little time smile.gif

currently - it's on a mild, what I think is a NE facing slope

10 - 20m more and it'll be on a good N facing slope, perfect winter sun-lounger stuff smile.gif

The small hill you can see in that navcam mosaic above? I think they're heading for the northern part of that (just beyond the right edge of the slope we can see)
