I updated my small map ... not sure why I put 1037 where I did but this should be better. The last position is still not certain.

There are quite a few big rocks on Clark Hill, one of those is probably what you see.
Not as big as these monsters though! (On Chawla Hill I think, although I'm a little lost.  )

Thanks James...I can tell by the long shadow that it must be the one above and left of center. When I get the proper software and a couple more gigabytes of memory I'll draw out the angles from the HiRISE image, route map, and the pancam images and confirm it. EDIT Here's a very rough guess not based on any measurements....

Hi folks.
Here in Spain we are in the middle of a some holidays so I took some spare time to make a new version of route map using the HiRISE image as background but enlarged to a scale about 10cm/pixel.  Given the limited mobility and the mid-term plans are constrained to Home Plate, I thought that a map covering just that area and using such a scale would be ok, otherwise it would be either too big or too cluttered. Comments?

The idea came when I saw Phil's "mini-route" map (good idea too!). I thought it would be nice to have something inbetween the normal 50cm-1m/pix route map and the mini-map.
BTW, to plot the old route (since sol 7xx) on this new map I made use of 360º polar projections. It was very easy to correlate them with the map; boulters/rocks of 10-30cm size were readily identifiable on the HiRISE image.  Same for these last movements. Some of those big vesicular basalts around the winter haven are visible too. |

Very good map, Tesheiner. I had started doing this with a MOC background, waiting for the new view - but now I don't need to continue with it! And that's good because I have another little mapping project on the go, between atlases...

Probably both.
Here in Spain, Nov 6th is the Constitution's Day while the 8th is the Imacculated Conception, so it's a nice five days off holiday.  ... and we are only in the middle of it.
