Per Floyd's suggestion, here is a map showing [part of] several notional routes I am aware of:
  • All routes progress, in general, towards the south
  • The most recent route, in light blue, is, in fact, a detour caused by the difficulty in crossing the Greenheugh Pediment, in order to try again the visit to the Gedis Vallis Ridge
  • The red and deep blue are some of the previous routes, from 2019 and 2021, respectively, which Curiosity would have gone through in a direction opposite to that of the light blue route
  • And, in white, the most ancient (2011) notional route, which promises to take Curiosity as far as is possible (traverse wise)
Note that both the white and the deep blue routes are much longer than shown. Lots of exploration and fun guaranteed!

Fernando--Thank you for posting the map above and indicating that these routes can be turned on in the Martian Way. Your work is much appreciated.

Thank you very much Floyd. It is quite rewarding to know my contribution is helpful, and I'm indebted to several members for their encouragement and suggestions.
Those led to new capabilities being implemented and, over the years, I've built a not-so-basic instrument. The insistence of several members to document it encouraged me to create a User Guide in which I attempt to describe all of "The Martian Way" capabilities.
I'm bringing this up here because new visitors to the forum might have missed the post where I first released it, but there is no need to go search for it: the Guide can be found at the link below. Kind regards

Fernando

Curiosity drove about 29m on sol 3564. Still very close to the base of "Bolívar", Curiosity is almost at the other end of the Paraitepuy pass and the new view is of a large (400m x 250m) area between buttes, some of which were just named.

Mission Updates tells us how, on sol 3565, Curiosity could not cross the ripple and had to bypass it instead with a drive of ~10.5m on sol 3567. I corrected the location of "António" and added the most recent targets.

Curiosity drove almost 11m on sol 3572. Many new target names added, taken from the Mission Updates for sols 3568-3570, 3571, and 3572.

After a drive of about 11m on sol 3576, Curiosity is almost at the center of the "Marker Band Valley" - my thanks to Paul for pointing out the name in Dr. Abigail Fraeman's tweet - and 11m west of a new quadrangle.

With a 14m drive on sol 3580, Curiosity finished sol 3579's drive which had been halted when a wheel tryed to climb a rock larger than predicted.
Looking for a new drilling place?
