Which do You consider among the highlights of the MGS mission ?
( other than those listed under the multimedia link at http://mpfwww.jpl.nasa.gov/mgs/ ) In my opinion photographing both the Martian moons should be added to these highlights, and MGS also pictured the MER landing sites, etc... |

Shouldn't that be 1997-2006?

Although we've read reports of a tumbling MGS spacecraft, I still didn't see an official NASA announcement that MGS is dead ... or am I wrong?
By The Way, which type ( type I, II, III, ... ) of trajectory did MGS perform towards Mars ? Type II I believe? |

I am not saying it is dead. I am saying that the images would be from 1997-2006, because it is still 2006.

With MGS gone, how many orbiters are still around Mars (4 I guess) ?

Interesting -- that means that there is now no remote sensing in or around Mars still in working order that arrived there in the 20th century.
