Back up at Cafe Press The Unmannedspaceflight.com Store I've re-done the products with the new logo after being a little disapointed with the way the previous logo came out, particularly on the clothing - fortunately I had an excellent beta-tester in Lakdawalla Jnr that showed the more vivid colours come out great! A few of you have been bugging me about this - so here it is, just in time for 2007 Just for 'full disclosure' - I've added about 20-25% on top of the base price, that is how much will come through to me and thus the UMSF coffers - you can always plough through cafe press and find the normal price of each product if you want to compare. Enjoy! Doug |

Doug, I wouldn't mind seeing UMSF bumper stickers & license plate holders in the future...just a suggestion, if anyone else would be interested!

Cafepress is based in the USA - and despite the fact that it would be very easy to do - sadly they've not set up a virtual 'depot' in the EU anywhere.
http://help.cafepress.com/hc/s-74058960/cm...amp;action=view All the items are made 'on the fly' and then shipped straight out. Doug |

I ordered a golf tee and a bumper sticker on Tuesday, I got an email today stating it shipped out earlier today.
I was going to order the regular tee shirt but I felt the logo was too large, I would have liked it to be similar in size to the logo on the golf tee. Maybe just a little larger. -------------------- Eric P / MizarKey

I needed something to wear and carry to the barbeque at VC. :-) Perhaps that's the 'entry fee' for the VC BBQ - everyone has to be wearing some item of UMSF-branded wossisname... ...so long as Doug doesn't do thongs, I reckon we're pretty safe! I'll be first in line - next month... apart from the Christmas impactor, someone somewhere tickled my conscience and I found myself signing up to the Planetary Society after many years of cynical & unconstructive pooh-poohing. (It was the podcasts that did it, really.) Hmmm, what with that, and the EFF, the FSF, No2ID and ORG.org... this card-carrying habit's getting expensive! (Whoops, a little bit of politics there - sorry, Mr Ellison! )
I really do need a new mug; the corporate-logo ones at work are only just big enough to cope with a two-shot cocktail from the coffee-machine -- I always end up slopping it over the carpet on the way back to my desk , and the large mug looks just perfect. An obvious idea for additional merchandise -- I'd be willing to pay quite a lot for a large, frame-able reproduction of, well... any one of dozens of classic images posted by the talented bitpushers of UMSF. (Someone point me at the "all-time great MER shots" thread?) Certainly Larry's Lookout, Duck Bay, Home Plate, dust devils, El Dorado, the route maps,.. in fact, I'd buy one a month for a year or two This would surely kill several birds with one stone -- many people here have either made their own posters, or talked dreamily about doing so. But I'm sure lots of us who haven't the skills to do it ourselves, or the time to run around finding a printer or copyshop that would do would be delighted to contribute to the UMSF coffer. I definitely would! And they'd make fantastic PR / outreach props. (I'm thinking of the view from Husband Hill on the wall next to my desk at work -------------------- --

I agree with imipak, if we can manage the rights etc I would love some UMSF.com sourced images. They are more valuable, to me, than NASA versions of the same images because of our friendship and fellowship here.
BTW Doug, I received my bumper (really a Laptop) sticker and small shirt for my son. He loves wearing it! My wife and I were cracking up when we noticed that the logo is huge, and on both the front and back of the shirt. For some reason, we just thought that was hilarious. -------------------- Space Enthusiast Richard Hendricks

Easy way for that to happen is this... anyone who would be happy to have one or more images sold on the shop should get in touch - send me the highest res JPG they can without any words/labels etc - I will add the UMSF logo to the corner - standardise the format in some way to include the 'artist' name and media credit and add it to the store.

Can I vote for the Clouds over Meridiani image that made APOD (or Astro0's version)? That was very realistic but represented a significant creative effort beyond the NASA source material. |

Yay - email me some high res pics of it all please What's the quality like - is it OK? The reason I cancelled the old store with the greyscale logo was that it never really looked very good. From that picture - the new stuff looks much better.

( Although perhaps not quite what you are looking for, there is stuff like that available: http://www.ehartwell.com/calendars/ I have no connection with that business other than as a happy customer of the large format Cassini calendar. The quality of the printing is excellent; glossy, heavy weight paper with good contrast and saturation. Airbag. |

I just received my first order, a mug and a toddler t-shit. I have found in the past that things like this can be cheap quality, but not this stuff. The mug is large and solid and the shirt is a well-stitched heavy quality cotton.
Here's the mug, I'll post a picture of the shirt when ElkGroveMark wakes up from his nap. -------------------- If Occam had heard my theory, things would be very different now.

The only thing I wasn't impressed with with the 'old' stuff was the clothing, and I designed this new logo specifically so it would look better for that. The old mug, coaster, badge etc looked good - but I think the colour was a 'must have' to give them something extra.
I've had my old mug for 18 months or so - I've found that putting it thru the dishwasher isn't too good for it - it's begun to peel the 'sheen' a little - might have been a symptom of the printing process that they've fixed, might still be a problem. Best sellers... 8 bumper stickers, 4 grey T-shirts, buttons and mugs all as 2. No one's gone for the teddy bear (I'm tempted) You know - seing UMSF on some one elses monitor feels really really wierd...don't know why Doug |

I got a coupon from cafe press after my purchase, it expires next week and I won't be using it.
If someone plans on buying €35 worth of UMSF stuff, the coupon is worth €5. Seems a shame to let it go to waste if people are actually going to buy something. Don't know if it can actually be transferred but worth a go. Just a thought.... -------------------- Turn the middle side topwise....TOPWISE!!

I bought a large mug, large t-shirt and a sticker. They took rather a long time to make it to my side of the Atlantic (Cafe Press sent me a feedback questionnaire a week before they arrived! but anticipation is half the fun .) The T shirt makes me look like a paunchy, prematurely-aged gimp having a bad hair year. This is a big improvement on my normal look, so 8/10 for that!
The mug is gratifyingly large, and lasted three days in the kitchen at work before disappearing by the time I arrived this morning. (If I have a criticism, it'd be that the black on the mug looks a little washed-out - more of a dark muddy-gray than black.) The sticker is wedged into the corner of a spare display on my desk, waiting for a permanent home -- I don't own a laptop of my own (they're technically my employer's), my main machine is already covered in stickers, and anyway is nearing it's 10th anniversary so is expected to go 'ping!' at any moment, and I'm buying a new car shortly which will probably get it. Bumper stickers are rare round here, and someone's going to find themselves staring at it for 30 minutes in a traffic jam on the A48 each day I drive to the office, which should bring in a few hits. The world is not yet ready for photographic evidence for all this, believe me! Doug -- the swag is great, & good value for money, but have you considered some sort of direct donation facility? I hear bad things of PayPal, but there are alternatives. I'd certainly be ready to chip in a few bob now and then, I'm sure others would as well. Just threaten to bring in banner ads, and it'd be like the "stoning" scene in "Life of Brian", but with money. -------------------- --
