Another CL-UV3-GRN-IR1 set was posted today, though Iapetus seems to have been hiding from the green and IR filters...here's my best effort at making something from the CL and UV3 images. Greetings,
Here's a new Iapetus map update. This one has various refinements (hopefully improvements) in the sub-Saturnian hemisphere (mostly away from the equator), and for the north polar regions. A couple of recent images from Ted Stryk and Gordan Ugarkovic were very helpful in these areas. Image navigation consistency appears to be improved, though there are still a few areas that are tricky to line up. I'd say that resolution also looks better in many of these areas. http://laps.noaa.gov/albers/sos/sos.html#IAPETUS ...and as a special bonus, here is EC's Saturnshine image (just by itself) mapped onto the cylindrical grid (centered on 0 degrees longitude): http://laps.noaa.gov/albers/sos/saturn/iap..._rgb_cyl_60.jpg That's the latest, -------------------- Steve [ my home page and planetary maps page ]
