There's a bunch of stuff that's come down from Spirit on '2008-09-22' that looks as if she's clearing some very old images from the flash memory. There are Pancam and Navcam images that are quite beautiful, including this one which I think is from somwhere near the summit of Husband Hill.
Jump on over to the Spirit images at Exploratorium and take a look. I'd love to see some of these images processed in colour. http://qt.exploratorium.edu/mars/spirit/pancam/2008-09-22/ http://qt.exploratorium.edu/mars/spirit/navcam/2008-09-22/ Shhhh....don't wake her while she's dreaming of 'Times from Roving Past' ![]() Astro0 |

I'm also amazed at so much of the old imagery. I've sometimes thought that, after the sad day that we last hear from the rovers, we could start a thread that relives the missions at one sol per day. Don't know if it could be sustained for several years, though! And maybe we'll be lucky and MSL will be roving by then anyway...

We can do that right now, through the eyes of a rover driver in the Mars and Me blog. Up to sol 12 and I have a feeling there's trouble ahead. ![]() |
