Spirit is no longer stuck, but I think the attempt to go on top of HP via the NE path is finished and we are going to the West Valley. A pancam mosaic of the western route is planned for tosol. |

I'm completely confused now (be nice!). Is this the likely direction of travel (which I thought would keep them close to HP), or is Spirit heading toward this area, which seems more in line with the current direction of travel? Or am I totally disoriented? The general drive direction is south (the first image), but we are not sure we can drive in that direction. The rock that is about 5 meters behind the rover and is visible in the NAVCAM frame is too big to go over or straddle, so we have to go around it. In the meantime we will stop for a few sols to sniff what the RF wheel has dug up.
