Spirit is no longer stuck, but I think the attempt to go on top of HP via the NE path is finished and we are going to the West Valley. A pancam mosaic of the western route is planned for tosol. |

I agree that it's vey challenging terrain.
First we have to avoid the sandy area in front of us. It seams then to go a bit downslope for a while but, looking at the route map, I think getting to the foot of VB will be challenging. Then, which side to go? West rim seams a better slope to climb than East rim but, as Goddard is on the East... Now, as we'll get to the narrow part of the West valley soon, I hope we'll get a solar panel clean up there since the "air" has to acclerate a bit to pass this area. -------------------- |
