Here're the latest navcam pictures taken during sol 1850: http://nasa.exploratorium.edu/mars/spirit/navcam/2009-03-18/
Spirit is no longer stuck, but I think the attempt to go on top of HP via the NE path is finished and we are going to the West Valley. A pancam mosaic of the western route is planned for tosol. |

I told you where drive: http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.p...st&p=138875
Seriously, if rear weels are stucked, we have to push RF or rotate around it, right? To rotate, rear weels have to move one direction or the other. Can we do so in this position or do we have a push a bit to get more room? -------------------- |

Here's a navcam mosaic taken after tosol's drive, pointing west and covering the whole area opposite to HP.
Seriously, if rear weels are stucked, we have to push RF or rotate around it, right? To rotate, rear weels have to move one direction or the other. Can we do so in this position or do we have a push a bit to get more room? Let's see if Paolo can give us some tidbits. What I can tell, based on the pointing of the above mosaic and a similar pancam one, is that the focus now seems to be to the west and not due south. In other words, they might attempt driving by the west side of the west valley, avoiding this sand patch by the right. |
