So the layering-like texture we are seeing is actually wind erosion, not layering? Like micro-yardangs? Not necessarily. Layered impact deposits can be formed very quickly from a single impact. Larger chunks mixed up with dustfall is how this looks to me. There would have been many neighbourhood impacts after Miyamoto and before Endeavour. (I note that there seem to be no 'berries here, new or old - no idea what that implies . . . ) |
