JPL rover driver Scott Maxwell has a nice analysis of the Chinese Mars rover design recently unveiled in Shanghai I was wondering, reading Scott's analysis and looking at the photos, whether this prototype Mars rover is meant to look like an actual thing that would get sent to Mars, or whether it's more akin to JPL's FIDO rovers, which was a rover explicitly designed for working on Earth to test systems being developed as prototypes for future Mars systems. -------------------- My website - My Patreon - @elakdawalla on Twitter - Please support unmannedspaceflight.com by donating here.
