Thanks, the gelogic map is a fascinating reference, and perhaps as expected those anti-conical features are best interpreted as "well-preserved impact craters". it appears as if the crater floors should be below the level of the glacial outflow, but in this case there seems to be no fluid table welling up to (or by other means) fill the depressions as appears to have happened in other areas around sputnik
