ESA Cosmic Vision Request for Proposals
Briefing Meeting Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 Call for Proposals 12 Apr 2007 More than 60 Letters Of Intent were received in response to ESA's Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 Call for Proposals. Wednesday, 11 April 2007, a briefing meeting to the proposers took place at ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The meeting comprised a number of presentations by ESA covering various aspects relative to the Call, followed by a session for questions from the proposers and for discussion. The presentations of the briefing meeting are available in PDF format at: http://sci.esa.int/science-e/www/object/in...fobjectid=40902 This Call for proposals covers the first planning cycle of the new Cosmic Vision 2015-2025. The Call will lead to the selection of one-medium sized mission (Class M mission) to enter the implementation phase in 2012, with a launch foreseen in the mid-2017 time-frame. The Call also invites proposals for concepts of more ambitious missions of the flagship category (Class L mission concepts) that will require an extended preparation. Tomorrow is the deadline (at high noon) for Phase-2 proposals in ESA's call for M7 and F2 mission opportunities. 12 M- and 4 F-Proposals were selected for Phase-2, although most of them apparently in stealth mode yet... Candidates selection for study in November 2022.
EDIT: One M7 proposal, which made it into Phase-2 is M-MATISSE (Mars - Magnetosphere ATmosphere Ionosphere and Space-weather SciencE). EDIT: HAYDN (High-precision AsteroseismologY in DeNse stellar fields) also made it into Phase-2. EDIT: Another M7 proposal in Phase-2, Arago. EDIT: ASTROGAM was selected for Phase-2 of ESA's M7 call. EDIT: STE-QUEST is a M7 Phase-2 candidate too. EDIT: Heavy Metal is a M7 proposal in Phase-2 for a space probe (with sub-satellite) to asteroid (216) Kleopatra and its 2 moons, in extended mission 1-2 more M-asteroids, (129) Antigone + moon and (201) Penelope. EDIT: Plasma Observatory and SPARK are two additional M7 proposals which made it into Phase-2. EDIT: Non-selected M5 finalist THESEUS reportedly submitted a Phase-2 proposal in response to ESA's M7 call. EDIT: So the three M-class Phase-2 proposals missing in this list are CALICO, SIRIUS, LiteBIRD and additionally, possibly FOSSIL. |
