Hope no one minds, but I felt we have to have a new topic, right from the start, as a compendium of all the Factual Observations on this incredible structure...this Mother Ship from another world...this...(who said Burgess Shale? I laughed at that at the time. ) Who will start us off with a detailed description of what we see before us TODAY February 5, 2006 - Super Sunday.
(I'll be running from game to Exploratorium all afternoon! -------------------- My Grandpa goes to Mars every day and all I get are these lousy T-shirts!

Some weird looking course grained layered rock here( top half of photo). could this be some exposed sections of the basal units in this sequence Weird indeed, Ab! I don't pretend I understand the workings of these anaglyphs, but I'm really stumped by this one. The top two-thirds looks perfect, everything coming together visually, but the lower foreground rocks all look double to me, no matter how I squint or twist my head or scrunch down in my seat!. What causes this? Do different people see anaglyphs differently? I'm beginning to wonder if anaglyphs are like Rorschach tests. -------------------- My Grandpa goes to Mars every day and all I get are these lousy T-shirts!

I put this one together so that the image looks best at the top, I should have cropped the bottom off |
