Another CL-UV3-GRN-IR1 set was posted today, though Iapetus seems to have been hiding from the green and IR filters...here's my best effort at making something from the CL and UV3 images. A better example of bright material is that apparently fresh crater ejecta seen in N00091847 (rotated 180 deg):
4 additional bright patches visible above center and a really bright one at left. -------------------- |

A better example of bright material is that apparently fresh crater ejecta seen in N00091847 (rotated 180 deg): You mean the small crater at about 4 o'clock from the centre? That is fairly convincing evidence of different materials. Here's 2x blowups from the above images. Interesting comments and images, thanks. |
