QUOTE Astronomer / cartographer / philosopher are all qualities of a Renaissance man or scientist of old. They were mostly amateurs as they had to hold real jobs to feed themselves--such as teacher or cleric. Or you could do science as a hobby if you were wealthy... As a renowned Astronomer, Philosopher, ..graphical bard of the celestial globes and widely travelled explorer of this tiny sphere, tell us, does this....'University' you frequent pay you, or do you pay them? Or are you just on a jolly?** ** http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jollies (See definition 2) |

Well... don't tell anybody... I probably would pay them to do my job, but they haven't figured it out, so they keep paying me.

Amateur cartographer? .... hardly! Amateur writer of article headlines, perhaps.

Update to sol 1037 - after a slight delay. This map includes several corrections to paths and locations.

Route update to Sol 1039. A very short backwards move (estimate around 20 cm based on front hazard camera images) from Sol 1037.

Thank YOU Phil for all you do here and elsewhere including the locations, targets and their names, which then "mysteriously" show up in the KMZ.
So it seems the backwards move was 33 cm rather than 20. Oh well, I'll get it right on the next update. Fernando |

Update to sol 1042. The position should be quite good but I am just guessing that the path followed the previous tracks.
