Those final two are spectacular! The last one musn't be missed! We get to swoop down to a view underneath the lander and of the terrain to the north-east.

Paolo, FYI, I get a "403 forbidden" error message for all but two of the links for individual videos, the first and the fifth. The multi-video link you posted first works fine.

More Chang'e 5 goodness here:
https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/368656034 Open in something that will translate the text for you if necessary. It includes two video clips that I am very pleased to see. One is a time-lapse of the surface sampling process showing the build-up of the set of little sampling trenches. The other is something I didn't know about - the arm rotated through 120 degrees to image parts of the horizon not seen before. EDIT: curb your enthusiasm... it's not new horizon after all. I thought it might be looking behind the lander but it's not. Too bad! But the sampling video is still new and useful. Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

This is a step-by-step sequence of the sample scooping activity made from all the images I have found so far. The fuzzy bits are from the video just mentioned, but they can be replaced as better source images show up. Work still in progress!

New names approved for the CE5 site:
Statio Tianchuan takes its name from a traditional Chinese constellation ("The Celestial Boat") which is part of Perseus. Mons Heng and Mons Hua are named after mountains in China. Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

An interesting paper (in Chinese with English abstract) here:
http://jdse.bit.edu.cn/sktcxb/cn/article/d...7.2021.20210023 It is about CE5 site selection and it shows a southern hemisphere region which could have been an option as well (though in my view less scientifically valuable than the young basalts in the north). In other news, the first samples have been sent out to research institutions. It seems that a few months were spent on detailed characterization and inventory work on the samples, and then applications were solicited for analysis. Now the samples have gone out to approved researchers. All so far are in China but international applications will be considered later. Maybe we will get the all-important age data before too long. This video documentary contains new (at least, as far as I know) views from the Chang'e 5 mission.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaCIjlnppA8 11:17 - Lunar orbit rendezvous - new camera angle (with Earth in background) 13:55 - Separation of the sample return capsule. 23:54 - Extracting the samples on Earth in a vacuum chamber. -------------------- -- Hungry4info (Sirius_Alpha)

Two tweets here and here show more Chang'e 5 content.
Numerous new videos. Extended videos of those we've seen. Video of the adapter jettison. Video from what looks like a survey of the territory to the north-east of the lander using the arm. Lots of great fun. -------------------- -- Hungry4info (Sirius_Alpha)

Originally I thought that panorama sequence was new territory to the north, but it's not, it is looking southeast. A pair of dark spots in this sequence turn out to be visible in the main published panorama.

HERE is a story about a rock in the CE5 sampling area being given a name: Shi Gan Dang. The name refers to a deity or spirit invoked to protect the home, often in the form of a stone tablet or a statue inscribed with the name. The rock is the prominent white rectangular rock sitting between the sampling trenches.

... and HERE is a paper about sample analysis which quotes another paper in press in Nature, saying the age of the CE5 sample is 2.030 billion years. A major result and the first time I have seen any mention of it.
