If anybody is in Washington on May 16th, I am talking in the Library of Congress on the cartography of non-spherical worlds.
This is part of a meeting, open to the public, called Terra to Terabytes. Here is some information: http://www.loc.gov/rr/geogmap/pdf/plp/2014plpsprogram.pdf Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

Terrific! Break a leg!
-------------------- A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.

I just gave that talk at the Library of Congress and spent a very enjoyable couple of days in the spectacular heart of Washington, DC. What a beautiful area! Yes, I did get to the National Air and Space Museum. Looks like I will be giving some material to the LOC Geography and Map Division to record parts of the history of lunar and planetary mapping.
Olivier - I'll come to Paris and give a talk on mapping if somebody invites me! Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.
