Images and preliminary results from last month's Saturnian vernal equinox have been posted on the imaging team website. The images are located at http://ciclops.org/view_event/116/A_Rare_Celestial_Spectacle and the press release is located at http://ciclops.org/view.php?id=5844
The images posted include a large mosaic of Saturn taken during equinox, radial scans of the rings, new information on ring corrugations, evidence for impacts into the rings by meter-sized objects, and the shadows of large ring particles and waves along the margin of the Keeler Gap. The images posted include a large mosaic of Saturn taken during equinox Very nice work on reprojecting the footprints to the same perspective, though I'd prefer if another version was available where the rings weren't brightened. Also, not to brag or anything, but I think this is the closest I've ever got to matching calibrated color with a raw composite in this post. No, I didn't fix it and upload it afterwards -------------------- |
