Did Beagle 2 scientists have many high resolution images of the landing site before the actual landing?
Looking at the images taken by Mars Global Surveyor: http://www.msss.com/mars_images/moc/2004/01/30/index.html This area looks quite dangerous, would Beagle have survived if had come down in or near any of those craters, there also appear to be hundreds of dome like features scattered across the ellipse. I just wonder if it hit something pretty nasty when it landed. |

There were few if any high res MOC images of the Beagle 2 site when they landed - I tried to find some, but there were none at the time.
Plenty of 12m res Themis imagery - but nothing better Doug |
