Do you think if man (or woman) ever returns to the Moon, would the astronaut (or taikonaut) say anything special the second time? My personal favourite is a quote from Tsiolkovsky: "Earth is the cradle of humanity, but one cannot live in a cradle forever". How about you?

"It's good to be back."
or... "Now where were we before we were so rudely interrupted?" |

OK, Mars goes as well. So, what will the guys say after they get there? Will they go for "profound" or rather "suit pressure nominal"?

Moon : "It took over 50 years to find the one that didn't mind been 13th!"
Mars : "Where did I put James' map?" or "Tesh, I bet you CAN't follow my Route" or "Help Stu, I'm NOT a poet" |

At the moon surface, contemplating to the blue Earth, "That planet is boiled of so much problems, and all of these problems are spiraling away. Here on the Moon, I hope that the ones living here will stick to new rules so that the human specie can live in peace, armony and love.

I like Eddie Izzard's, "Oooh! It's all STICKY!" If you're going to go the Eddie Izzard route, the first words upon the return to the Moon ought to be, "You see, we have a flag..." -the other Doug -------------------- “The trouble ain't that there is too many fools, but that the lightning ain't distributed right.” -Mark Twain

Im not altogether certain karolp, but I think those words by Tsiolkovsky was read by one astronaut in one Apollo vehicle while circling the Moon.
As for returning to the Moon I would prefer the astronaut to connect to the earlier set of landings by not making any bold statement but instead asking a question. "I wonder if mr. Gorsky got his romance?" That would be the perfect line in my taste! |

Upon stepping out of the lander for the first time:
Moon: "Another small step for a man." Mars: "One small step for a man...holy rover, look at the size of that canyon!" Titan: "Yet another small step for a man, another giant...uh...Houston, I seem to be frozen to the ground..." |

Then again, you could always go the route of The Onion, a popular humor newspaper here in the U.S. Their re-telling of history might be appropriate:
"Holy f****** s***! I'm standing on the f****** Moon! Do you f****** believe this?" -the other Doug -------------------- “The trouble ain't that there is too many fools, but that the lightning ain't distributed right.” -Mark Twain
