Doug
I got an email back from Dr Parker saying he thought it was very nice!!!
It's like having a pop star say you've got a nice voice!!!!

Excellent job Doug!
Low and behold - the joys of raw imagery...
No comparison. This is SUCH good stuff to play with !!!

WOW- Great stuff. Where do you think the bluish colour comes from?
I was hoping we would get to see Opporunity's heatshield - but it doesn't look like they're in any hurry to leave Endurance crater any time soon.
Dont be so sure - they're taking lots of what I would classify as planning imagery for an exit route
Give them a week.

Here:
At first I was like "are they f@#$% nuts?!" but hey, they seem to know what they're doing...

i love the sight of that arrow heading straight for the heatshield
i've been on holiday the last month or so. so can anyone tell me what oppy is going to do next? heatshield first? I got that they are going to that huge Victoria crater. but between that?
I have been working on the heat shield imagery for some time. Here is where I am at this point.
Have I seen your work on AMW?
Seriously, amazing high quality work!
Good effort Ted - I think it compares favorably with Jim'n'Co...

Amazingly good, Ted - that is so impressive! Keep it up.
Phil
Thanks for the kind words. Here are the shield images closeup, from the Cornell version on the left and my version on the right, taken from earlier on in processing, before I began working to compensate for the brightness of the shield in relation to the martian surface and make cosmetic alterations.
