Spirit is now almost at the bottom of Inner Basin.
Time to start a new topic. Here is a 360 degree panoramic view taken with the L0 navcam on Sol 667. jvandriel

Great mosaics, jvandriel.
I'm disappointed by the low rocks density, except from amazing small boulders on these small hills  I imagine is a wind product...

Here is jvandriel's new pan in a polar version. The descent is certainly a lot faster than the ascent...

Dilo, yes, that zone is coverd by sands and dust. Between stones or rocks looks well covered. Now I see more or less orderly the direction of most stones that goes from the top of East to down on West side along the terraces. From the rover to Home Plate there are many terraces. These might be stratified land caused probably by the *uphil* land caused by the impact of some meteoro on somewhat soft land (volcanic land). Another possibility is these terraces are marked by the *water erosion* when it was dried out. Rodolfo |
