This is mosaic of 20 kilometers high scarp Matronalia Rupes from Dawn's FC cameras.
Mosaic is made from 43 images with F4 (917 nm), F6 (829 nm) and F7 (653 nm) filters. Resolution is ~67 m/pix. Image is linked to the article with Matronalia Rupes and "Snowman" mosaics. -------------------- |

Superb work as always machi - thank you
It's only very recently we had to be content with a handful of indistinct Hubble views of this world at a few tens of kilometres resolution. It's easy to take this stuff for granted too - this view encapsulates the work of perhaps hundreds of people and certainly millions of hard-fought dollars. Bravo. |

You are welcome!
This isn't true only for Vesta, we are in similar situation with Ceres and Pluto (and I hope that more bodies will follow). But in these cases we must wait still more than two years. For Ceres it's even worse, because for long time even HST wasn't capable of imaging nothing more than disc without details, despite fact that old FOC camera had very good resolution (few 10's of km). Only recently, thanks to the more sensitive ACS camera, we have some decent images of Ceres, but still only with two or three identifiable features. -------------------- |

Using the released data, I created this video with some of the best moments of the 8 months in orbit around Vesta (no sound due to copyright restrictions):

Not sure if this should go in this HAMO thread or the other, but here are some nice hypercolor releases:
