Just exchanged emails with Shin-ichi Sobue from JAXA -- I inquired whether they were on schedule for their planned public data release. He said:

Looks like that image is mirror-flipped- swapping the top and bottom puts the Pacific coast of South America, and islands in the Caribbean, in their expected places.
