Tomorrow marks 2 decades since HST was launched onboard space shuttle Discovery.

HST has played such a pivotal role in presenting the cosmos to the world that even Google is honoring the special occasion smile.gif

In fact 30 years since construction for the 2.40 m mirror began and 20 years since launch, but "only" 17 years since Second Light in December 1993

Speaking of December 1993, here are three photos I took of the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (which was installed during the HST servicing mission that year) at the JPL Open House today
