I'm building a model of the Venera lander. There is still a lot of details to be built but it is getting there.

I'm looking for close up and or high resolution pictures of the lander. There are areas that are really hard to see in the pictures that I have. I am trying to find references of what is just behind the antenna in the top "turret" and also better images of the top of the airbrake. The coolant pipes that pass trough the brake has a lot of cabling and stuff that I have a hard time seeing in my references. I also need better images of the soil drill. I have nearly nothing on the actual drill bit.

Wow, that is a fantastic job! Even as it is without "a lot of details to be built" it looks terrific. The capsule shell looks great in particular, with the internal ribs. I have a soft spot for high-fidelity digital models of spacecraft, so I was very pleased to see your post. I've been working on a Viking '75 Mars lander for two and a half years now (there's a post on the past-missions-to-Mars forum about it). Keep up the good work!

Wow Tom! that is a really nice model!

Very detailed indeed! i like your reference albums!

It is always fun to make models. It forces you to learn a lot about the subject.
