I agree it's a big step forward and I hope it sets a precedent that will be widely followed. Even if other publishers do follow suit, though, that's not the end of the road. Science is best served by immediate open access to information. Ideally any member of the public should be able to read a paper as soon as its peer reviewed and be able to send relevant information or a useful query to the authors.
