OK, to get started... this is a circular version (with considerable contrast enhancement) of the May 30 panorama. It shows how we can learn things from the images. The tracks show that this location is what I show on the map as the 6th lunar night stop. If Yutu 2 was there on May 30, it probably drove on May 27, 28, 29 and 30 and then stopped for its noon break. In the afternoon it did no driving and stayed there until waking for the next day.

EDIT: No... not quite. Now I have done the June 9 panorama, I see that the position on my map labelled June 9th was incorrect. So now I can see that there was a drive in the afternoon, and I can label the locations properly. I will update the map when I have all these things sorted out, but having the panoramas is very useful. Mapping like this is an iterative process.

This is the updated map of panorama numbers. The base includes a correction for the end of lunar day 6. A full map update taking all panorama locations and dates into account will follow soon. Trying to map in real time is always going to be iterative!

Yeah - the area around Pan 50 - the 'gel' crater - they certainly approach it a few times... https://dougellison.smugmug.com/Change-4-Yutu-2/i-H7Zxsqr/A

And here's a drive diary for the last lunar day. Open in something that will translate it for you.

This is the Oct. 25th panorama made by Doug and reprojected to show the area in a somewhat map-like form (but still full of topographic distortions) (are there DEMs in the data release?).

Attached Image

And an updated panorama number map. Doug says some numbers are missing. They may be other types of observation rather than panoramas.

I don't see DEMs in the release. I've tried some photogrammetry with the images with very very mixed results

Hi Doug - can you post the original Pan 18? I don't think it's on Smugmug yet.

Yutu 2 is just about to wake up for lunar day 14. This is a mosaic of two recently released images showing the road ahead towards a prominent crater (top left).

Lunar day 14 is underway. Yutu-2 rover awoke at 14:00 UTC January 18 and the lander following at 09:55 Sunday, according to a social media post from CLEP. Two images released.

So - I went thru every pan number there is for the rover, opened the label file for the first image listed and pulled out the start time, lat and long, and the X, Y, Z from the lander.

While other data sets do have some points at Pan numbers not listed below....they do not have the Lander frame X,Y,Z data
Zipped up XLSX attached, as well as a crude X vs Y scatter plot.
