It depends how you do the maths - but today, tomorrow, at some point about now - Spirit is celebrating her second Martian Birthday.
As is traditional with such things (well, I did it last time) - I sent birthday cards to Cornell & JPL thanking the scientists and the engineers for their hard work and their efforts in taking us along for the adventure with them. Steve tells me that the Cornell card has safely arrived, and that their MER model is now wearing her badge right between the Navcams Doug |

-------------------- A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.

Is it just me or isn't two martian years on SOL 1338?
Martian year is 669 sols and x2 = 1338 -------------------- "I want to make as many people as possible feel like they are part of this adventure. We are going to give everybody a sense of what exploring the surface of another world is really like"

We had the same argument last time around, and allowing for the fact that we've got two of them three weeks apart, the pace of international postage - I sent them nice and early. It's more a birthday 'season' than a day
