I built a 3D printer from a kit recently and I've been doing some models to learn and gain experience so I can print things for my rover and other projects. One of those models that I wanted to do was print my CAD model of the Marsdial that's on board Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity. I just completed the 3D printing of it over the weekend. Here are some pictures of it. I'm going to paint it next.

That's a very cool project James. Good luck with the printer, and with the rover!

Thanks. I'm going to release the Marsdial STL model on Thingiverse for anyone that has a 3D printer can print it out. I had some bridging issues on the base that made the surface look like swiss cheese, but I reprinted the base with higher infill density and more surface layers and the result was perfect in my opinion.
