Doug has advised that he'll be in NYC from June 12th to the 19th. When I asked if he would be willing to meet with
>I think the sensible option would be just to get a few UMSF'ers and their other halves and meet >up for dinner somewhere. We've been penciling in what we plan to do - and apart from the >night of the 16th and 17th, we're fairly flexible. How about the Sat night? Sounds like a great idea to me, and Saturday June 14 looks good for my schedule, if it's not too late. Anyone else interested? TTT |

I might be up for it. I work in NYC but have a nearly 1.5 hour commute (from Beacon, if that means anything to anyone). I usually avoid the long train rides on the weekend, but I might make an exception... I'll check with my wife and reply again more decisively...

Maybe - I'll keep that day free for now - but only if we don't talk about space all the time as otherwise our "other halves" will not be too happy...

Why not reserve two tables, one for space enthusiasts, one for space "widows"? I'm joking, I think.

>nearly 1.5 hour commute
>only if we don't talk about space all the time What might be a more practical alternative for more people would be to gather after work on Friday for drinks/coffee, with dinner to follow for those who can stay. TTT >from Beacon, if that means anything to anyone Good memories of a hike up Breakneck Ridge decades ago. Does the train still stop at the trailhead during summer weekends? |

Holy! I'll be in Fairlawn, OH from June 14 to June 21. How far is this from there to where we're going to meet? If I have a chance, I really want to go and meet you all in person

6 1/2 hours drive....a long way for people who live on the East coast, but for those of us out West that's a Saturday drive to grandma's.

Thu, I'd fly; traffic is a serious consideration, esp. once you cross over from Pennsylvania to Jersey.

I don't know if lurkers are admitted, but I'm within two and half hours drive. I think I still qualify as a representative of the first spacefaring nation and as a developer of the OS UMSF runs on

Is it fixed the meeting on Saturday night 14 June? I'll be arriving at Cleveland airport at 3pm 14 June and available till Sunday before I have to back to work. I think I'll take nprev's advice and try to book a flight from CLE to JFK.
Please keep me/us informed of the schedule and place of the meeting. |
