Are you guys familiar with SixthSense, Mistry's invention? It won INVENTION OF THE YEAR 2009 award by Popular Science (June, 2009)

There's a lot of interesting work in the augmented reality direction. ISTR seeing quite a few MediaLab demos of such over the years, most of which never progressed beyond the cool-looking proof-of-concept stage. No doubt someone will find the sweet-spot sooner or later.
