UMSF 2014 Survey - Jan.19-Feb.2, 2014 - Link to Survey
On 8 February 2014, Unmanned Spaceflight.com reaches a significant milestone – 10 years of 'exploring the solar system and beyond from the comfort of home'. In the past decade, the goals of robotic missions have become more ambitious, fast access to spacecraft data has become almost common place and the capabilities of UMSF members to process images and discuss the minutia of mission activities has continued to develop. The Administration and Moderation team continuously monitors members' contributions and how they reflect upon and shape the direction of the Forum. Maintaining a high 'signal-to-noise' ratio has always been very important and in general has been kept at a very high level. With that ongoing goal in mind, the UMSF team would like to take the temperature of the Forum by asking its members a few questions. We are inviting all members (active and lurkers) as well as guests (readers only) of UMSF to complete the following survey via Google Docs. Your comments and results will help us know how we are currently performing and how we might develop in the future. Thank you for your assistance. The UMSF Administration and Moderation Team Please note: The survey is not collecting names or email addresses. All responses and comments are confidential. Statistical data and comments will be compiled to help the UMSF team to assess and develop the Forum. A report on the survey will appear at a later date. |

Is there a way to send a mass PM to all members? It's a little like using thermonuclear devices to solve a mosquito infestation, but it would make sure everyone is aware of the survey...

Unfortunately, not that I know of. Also, the survey's not restricted to just members; we'd also like unregistered people to complete it as well.

I dunno. The response rate really hasn't been too bad, just trying to maximize it before it's all over by just bumping this thread.
We're also trying to be not too intrusive & distract from the dialogue, of course. -------------------- A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.

We're comin' down to the wire here, fellow space enthusiasts!!! Less than 48 hrs remain to complete the UMSF 2014 Survey! Remember that it's open to all, both registered members and guests.
Thanks to everyone who've already done so! -------------------- A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.

I turned mine in. It's very quick, if you don't get hung up on the optional essay questions.

Thanks, Tom.
Yeah, the comments are indeed optional so it's pretty much every person's choice as far as how much or how little time they want to spend completing the survey. Anyhow…last day!!! We will resume our normal programming shortly. Won't be around much since I got a lotta swag riding on the Super Bowl here in the US today, so gotta get over to the stadium & start "bending" the limbs of a few key players; much like the survey, this can go easy or hard for them, their choice. -------------------- A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.
