Hello, this is Beth Dewell for the Mars Exploration Rover Flight Director report for Monday July 19th 2004.

On Spirit today it’s sol 194, just at the beginning of the day. Over the weekend we had a plan to drive to the hills and we found an outcrop acrea that was very interesting. We drove there and nicknamed it ‘Wooly patch’, because it had a flat rock and it had an interesting unusual groove there. Currently we’re facing our target and have very good positioning energywise and for tomorrow for RAT-ting on this outcrop area.

On the other side of the planet on Opportunity, it’s currently midday on sol 173. Over the weekend we performed a short drive in the crater and there was a half meter slip in the rover position. Today we’re imaging a target a target nicknamed as ‘Arnold Ziffel’, which is a horizontal razorlike target.

And that’s what’s happening on Mars today.
